We’re pleased to announce a new version of Imunify360. Version 6.3 is now available. The following features are new in the v6.3 release:

  • cPanel on Ubuntu 20.04
    Starting from version 6.3 we added support for the cPanel control panel on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.
  • Recommended security settings
    We promote security features we consider important because they affect the overall security of a server in a positive way.

This is what we updated in version 6.3:

cPanel on Ubuntu 20.04

We are happy to announce that in Imunify360 version 6.3 we added support for cPanel working on Ubuntu LTS 20.04. With this change, we ensure that everyone who would like to use this popular and reliable version of the Ubuntu OS will be able to do so. The Ubuntu OS has benefits for a whole list of purposes. For example, Ubuntu may be considered better suited than other Linux distributions for developmental tasks and application hosting projects that employ a set of the latest technologies. Similarly, the owners of the single-user server find it useful. Also, the feedback we collected shows that cPanel running on Ubuntu is a fairly frequently utilized configuration, therefore we eagerly extend our support for cPanel running on Ubuntu.

LTS stands for Long Term Support, which means that this OS version will be supported and continually updated as well as patched by the vendor at least for five years after its release, free of charge. To summarize, using an Ubuntu LTS version gives users a reliable, safe, and predictable experience, which is exactly a set of characteristics one is looking for in a server environment.

Recommended security settings

In version 6.3 we promote a few optimal security configurations. Additionally, the features below  will be promoted using Advisor:

  • Connection-based DoS Protection;
  • WordPress account compromise prevention;
  • ELF malware detection.

We feel that these features deserve to be promoted since switching them on can potentially reduce the infection rate and enhance protection.
