We are happy to announce that cPanel Version 102 has now been released to the STABLE tier!

Release Notes :

Upgrade blockers

CentOS 8 deprecation and blocker

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we no longer support the CentOS 8 operating system, which reached its End-of-Life (EOL) on December 31, 2021. For more information about our EOL policies, read our Third-Party Software End of Life Policy. For information about migration options, read our options for EOL systems and CentOS 8 to AlmaLinux OS 8 conversions documentation.

CloudLinux 6.5 or earlier blocker

If your server runs CloudLinux 6.5 or earlier, you must upgrade it to CloudLinux version 6.6 or later.

Ubuntu® 20.04 LTS

cPanel, L.L.C. only supports installations of cPanel & WHM version 102 and newer on the Ubuntu operating system. We no longer support cPanel & WHM versions 98 and 100 on Ubuntu 20.04 and we block the installation of those versions on the Ubuntu operating system.

New features

Added the Onboarding Assistant for new users (Jupiter)

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we added the Onboarding Assistant for new user accounts. After creating an account, the Onboarding Assistant prompts the user to create or restore a website, depending on the provider’s available features.

Added SQL Edit Interface

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we introduced the SQL Edit interface (WHM >> Home >> SQL Services >> SQL Edit). This feature allows you to make changes to your MySQL® or MariaDB® configuration.

Added Raw NGINX® Log Download interface

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we added the Raw NGINX Log Download interface (WHM >> Home >> Account Functions >> Raw NGINX Log Download). This feature allows you to download raw NGINX access logs.

WHM interface statistics panel

We received a large amount of feedback regarding the removal of load times from the WHM interface. In cPanel & WHM version 102, we have added load times to the WHM interface as part of a statistics panel, which contains essential information about the server.

For more information, read our WHM interface documentation.

Updated features

Updated WHM interface

Added load averages

We restored the server load averages to the top navigation of WHM’s interface. For more information read our WHM interface documentation.

Added a search box to the side navigation menu

We restored the search box to the side navigation menu of the WHM interface. This search box allows you to quickly search for specific tools. For more information, read our WHM interface documentation.

Improved the notifications alert

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we made the notifications alert more noticeable by changing the color of the icon in the WHM interface. When you have a notification, the icon will now display red. For more information, read our WHM interface documentation.

Improved the font readability

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we improved the readability of the WHM interface by increasing the contrast of the font. For more information, read our WHM interface documentation.

WordPress Toolkit on all new installations

In cPanel & WHM version 102, new installations of cPanel & WHM will include WordPress Toolkit.

We also added the --skip-wptoolkit parameter for custom cPanel & WHM installations. This will allow the user to skip the automatic installation during the installation of cPanel & WHM.

Added new data to Configuration Analytics

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we added additional items to the data that Configuration Analytics gathers from your server.

We created the following sections:

  • Accounts
  • Transfer and Restore Tracking

We also added the following to the Installation section:

  • cl_edition

In addition, we updated the Interface Analytics section with the following item:

  • The frequency with which root or resellers use their escalation privileges to access cPanel user accounts.

For more information, read our cPanel Analytics – The Data We Use documentation.

Updated the Search Bar text (Jupiter)

In cPanel & WHM version 102, the search bar in the Jupiter theme now reads Search Tools and Accounts.

Added icons to cPanel Interface (Jupiter)

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we have added icons to the cPanel interface in the Jupiter theme. For more information on our new Jupiter theme, read our cPanel Interface documentation.

Removal of Sectigo HTTP ancestor DCV support

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we address an update on how Certificate Authorities manage Domain Control Validation (DCV). If you secure your domain via HTTP DCV, the system must validate the domain directly. You can no longer secure them via the parent domain. You must validate wildcard domains on paid SSL certificates via DNS rather than HTTP. This change in how Certificate Authorities manage DCV may also impede AutoSSL’s ability to secure some domains in rare cases. For more information about the changes in how Certificate Authorities manage HTTP DCV, read the CA/Browser Forum guidelines (version 1.7.8).

Improved Search Feature in the cPanel interface

We upgraded the cPanel Search feature to show ranked results that prioritize exact matches. The Search function will also display a brief description of each feature.

cPanel users can now enable or disable NGINX caching

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we added a toggle to cPanel’s Home interface that allows cPanel users to enable or disable NGINX caching for their accounts.

This toggle only appears if the server administrator enables the EA4 – Allow enabling/disabling NGINX caching (requires cPanel & WHM version 100 or later) setting in WHM’s Feature Manager interface (WHM >> Home >> Packages >> Feature Manager).

NGINX logging data added to cPanel interfaces

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we updated the following cPanel interfaces to display NGINX logging information:

  • Visitors (cPanel >> Home >> Metrics >> Visitors)
  • Errors (cPanel >> Home >> Metrics >> Errors)
  • Raw Access (cPanel >> Home >> Metrics >> Raw Access)

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS out of Experimental

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS is now a supported operating system. Review our installation requirements to make sure you can install cPanel & WHM on your Ubuntu server.

EasyApache 4 interface changes on systems that run Ubuntu

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we do not display the Ruby via Passenger section of WHM’s EasyApache 4 interface (WHM >> Home >> Software >> EasyApache 4) on Ubuntu systems. Ubuntu uses our new version of Passenger, which uses the newest installed version of Ruby that exists on the system. To use Passenger applications on Ubuntu, install the mod-passenger package in the Apache Modules section of the interface.

New WHM Interface (Jupiter)

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we have updated the WHM interface to use the new Jupiter theme. This new interface offers the user a cleaner visual experience and more efficient access to the features they use most often. For more information on our new Jupiter theme, read our WHM Interface documentation.

Updated WHM Customization interface

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we have updated WHM’s Customization interface (WHM >> Home >> cPanel >> Customization) to manage the appearance and other branding elements within the cPanel interface for the Jupiter theme. Earlier releases allowed limited control and required direct API function calls to perform these changes.

Renamed the Install an RPM interface

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we changed the name of WHM’s Install an RPM interface (WHM >> Home >> Software >> Install an RPM) to WHM’s Install Distro Packages interface (WHM >> Home >>Software >>Install Distro Packages). The interface now provides a search feature, rather than attempting to list all available packages.

User Manager appears within the Feature Manager interface

The User Manager interface is now a selectable feature through WHM’s Feature Manager interface.

Improved Search Feature in the WHM interface

We upgraded the WHM Search feature to show ranked results that prioritize exact matches. The Search function will also display accounts based on the text matching a username or a primary domain owned by that account. Each account will have an Edit icon () that you can use to edit the account and a cPanel icon () that you can use to log in to cPanel as that user.

Deprecated and removed items

Removed Deprecated API1 Calls List from the Contact Manager

In cPanel & WHM version 102, we removed the Deprecated API1 Calls List from the Contact Manager options.

Removed Solutions page in the cPanel interface
